Thierry Stern warned us the end was coming.

“I have to be very tough on the quantity of steel cheap replica watches. I don’t want steel taking over the lead in the whole collection.” He explained that he’d seen other brands produce too many steel fake watches – and once they go down that road, there’s no going back.

It might not have deserved special treatment, but it got something else instead: a victory lap. Patek introduced an olive green dial for the final year of the 5711’s run, and then a final limited-edition Tiffany & Co. blue dial that drove us mad – the “fuck you 5711s,” as one collector I talked to called them. If that wasn’t enough, Phillips auctioned one of those Tiffany Nautiluses for $6.5 million in December 2021.

And with that sale, we reached Peak Nautilus. Since then, secondary market prices have dropped. Toward the end of 2021, a standard blue-dial steel Nautilus might’ve exchanged hands for more than $160,000. Today they’re more like $130,000, but – pulls out calculator – that’s still about 4x their original retail price. So still crazy, but slightly less so.

Before we go any further, it’s worth recapping what the Nautilus is: how a simple-looking super clone watches could sell for $6.5 million, and why it was such a big deal that Patek discontinued the reference 5711 – and replaced it, just yesterday, with the 5811/1G in white gold.

The famously discontinued AAA luxury replica Patek Philippe Ref. 5711 watches is making a final curtain call. A co-signed 170-piece limited edition in honor of Patek’s 170-year relationship with Tiffany & Co. goes on sale today, but it’s available only at Tiffany and Co. in New York, Beverly Hills, and San Francisco. The Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-018 has a distinctive Tiffany blue dial – a pure robin’s egg blue – with the Patek Philippe signature at the top of the dial and the Tiffany & Co. marque at the six o’clock position. The crystal over the open caseback is etched with the inscription: “170th Anniversary Tiffany & Co – Patek Philippe 1851 – 2021.” According to a Patek Philippe statement: “This limited-edition fake watches for sale will mark the last variation of the iconic Ref. 5711.” If you look closely at the 2021 on the back, you will see the initials LVMH, a tribute to the luxury giant’s recent purchase of Tiffany.

The 1:1 best replica watches is a modern rendition of the vintage tradition of double-signed pieces, where both the maker’s name and a key retailer’s name appear on the dial, something rarely done today.  Patek has shared the dial with retailers such as Gubelin (Switzerland) and Gobbi Milano (Italy), but has not done double-signed pieces in recent years, except with Tiffany – it released co-signed UK high quality copy watches with the retailer in 2001, 2009 and 2012, but none of them were a coveted Ref. 5711. We’ll find out how just how high it could go in a few days, in fact, when one of the pieces will be auctioned by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo on December 11. Proceeds from the sale will benefit The Nature Conservancy, Tiffany’s charity of choice.  

The case is stainless steel, and the movement is the caliber 26-330 S C, with a stop-seconds mechanism that allows the time to be set with one-second accuracy. The Tiffany blue dial bears the cheap Swiss super clone watches’ signature horizontal relief embossing. The baton-shaped hour and minute hands blackened white gold with luminous coating.
